At the end of what was a strange and heartbreaking day, we knew that people had died but not how many. When we finally got all of our shops shut and had made sure our people got home, I took my team out for a well earned drink just off Broadgate. What struck me is how quite the streets were and how empty the bar was.
When I finally headed off home I got onto a train and realised that it was almost empty.
I still get goosebumps when I think about that day 10 years ago and it’s something I hope to never experience again
