it seems impossible to convey my emotions that day, there was chaos and confusion and a lack of information. The phone network going down made things even worse as people were desperately trying to contact their loved ones or get in touch with work colleagues.
As I mentioned in my last post, as I arrived at Aldgate I came up to a police cordon, after 20 or so minutes I managed to locate the team from our shop and was relieved to find that they were all ok, they had been made to evacuate the shop in a hurry (it was almost directly over one of the bomb blasts) and had left all of the ovens and other equipment switched on. This was not good news and I had to persuade the police to let me go back into the shop to switch everything off.
