It’s been an interesting day, I really enjoyed judging some of the categories in this years Eat Out awards, not least because it gave me the opportunity to reconnect with some old colleagues. Some of the entries were really enspiring and contained some fantastic best practice and some of the categories were difficult to judge as the quality of the entries made it tough to pick a winner, having said that we managed to come up with five deserving winners within our allotted time.
Most of the afternoon was taken up with our managers meeting where we launched our new cash handling policy, not the most exciting of topics but a necessary discussion.
Finally a word or two on the latest rail strikes, as well as causing untold misery for commuters things like this really hit small businesses such as ours so I really hope that common sense will prevail at some point soon.
