I spent yesterday and will be spending today visiting various stores in the South East and the South before heading back to Birmingham for an overnight stay. These visits have a variety of purposes, they give me a chance to spend some quality time with managers, understanding more about their business and how they plan to take it forward, I also get a chance to assess how well the store is running and how well standards are being followed.
Finally, I get to assess the level of impact made by our various initiatives and to understand if we have landed them well enough.
I’m back in the office tomorrow but have a fairly varied week ahead.
Today’s photo is of an old Bedford van. A bit of cutting compound and a good polish will have it right as rain. Mind you, I won’t be using it for my store visits anytime soon……
