Silence is golden

Have I mentioned that I’m a pragmatist? I suspect that I have! As I’ve advanced in my career I have learned to not to react to things straight away as this gives me time to consider a best approach to a situation. I also find that a calm, rational discussion is almost always better than a “heat of the moment” situation where I tend to find myself saying things as I think them which in my experience is never helpful.

Of course, this approach has its downsides, what I feel is a considered response can sometimes be perceived as weakness which is not ideal.

Everyone of us has buttons which can easily be pushed and after 50 plus years on this planet I’m quite aware as to what mine are.

We went on a tour of some niche brands yesterday and came across a croissant with rarebit which was an interesting but ultimately disappointing experience
